Here are a few glimpses into these magical moments.
Painting with leaves
This is our backyard play place.
To the immediate left is the children's garden that we started this past Spring, and then my flower garden
On the right is the swing set, and the family vegetable garden.
Tucked away in the back is a play house, followed by the fort I made for the kids, and the mud kitchen

Self Discovery and a unique awareness of space, such as imagining we are walking on the ceiling using mirrors!
Every day at Art and Soul, children have the opportunity to paint at the easels.
When they first began, paint was put out for them, however now they come into the art studio, put on their smocks, pick out their paint and brushes and bring them to the easel they would like to paint at. In this way they are seen as capable individuals with choices and responsibilities. our next step is to have them learn the correct way to clean the brushes.
We also offer several different paints and painting experiences such as; tempura, water colors, water color crayons, using sticks to scratch out the paint, using stamps and wax resists, acrylics, masking tape to create negative space in paintings, finger painting and finger painting mono prints, painting with India ink and liquid water color, and the list goes on. The idea it to present them with real artists materials, let them explore these materials, dialog about the process and most of all enjoy. The real magic in their artwork is shown in their authentic representation of the process without the pressure of having a set outcome.
